Roger Bastide - between times, spaces, traditions

Abstract

The article proposes an analysis of the itinerary and writings of Roger Bastide (1898-1974), trying to show how his displacements between France and Brazil, and also between different fields of knowledge, contribute to the formation of his plural point of view, and also how his position at the intersection of times, places and traditions raises important questions for the way we conceive and write the history of anthropology.
