The article analyzes some of the implications brought about by the increasing usage of computer-mediated communication in our contemporary world. It also analyzes the nature of the social cybernetic space created through such a communicative practice, the so-called "cyberspace." As background reflection, these analyses are accompanied by a discussion on the process of virtualization implied both in the questions relating to computer-mediated communication and in questions relating to the cyberspace.
