Systemic thinking and complexity are of special interest when it comes to understanding a wide spectrum of phenomena. The present paper synthesizes some authors' ideas regarding a number of topics in this area: the need to use analysis and synthesis complementarity; the holistic evaluation of reality, where living with complexity is an accepted fact, not negated through reductionism; the emergence of order from chaos; and the active participation of a 'model-creator' in the design of artifacts from language.
