Summary
This article examines aspects of the trajectory of the Brazilian Association of Education (ABE) from the perspective of its legacy and reach, as well as its central role in consolidating the pedagogical field and school education in Brazil. The aim is to explore new research possibilities on ABE through the lens of transnationality and school material culture. The key question guiding this analysis is the role that the Brazilian Association of Education played in promoting educational debates and, especially, in promoting exhibitions, and which dialogue networks it creates or joins to strengthen itself and the pedagogical debate. The documentation consists of official letters, correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, ABE publications, and photographs. Theoretically, the article draws on authors from the fields of educational historiography, material culture, and cultural history. The reach of ABE is observed through the network of contacts established with booksellers, merchants, publishers, suppliers of educational materials, and international education associations, which reveals cultural and pedagogical practices.
