Abstract
After the promulgation of Decree nº 8.319 of 1910, the Federal Government began to organize federal agricultural professional education. One of the institutions that shaped the educational policy aimed at preparing labor to meet the demands of rural areas was the Aprendizados Agrícolas. This article, of a qualitative nature and of a documentary and bibliographic nature, sought, from ministerial reports, reports from the directors of educational institutions, laws and decrees, to present a debate on the location of these establishments, the economic profile of the location where they were located and which their educational and productive activities. Along this path, it also exposes the criticisms leveled at the model and the reasons for its secondary status, given the great oscillation and decrease in the number of establishments between the years 1910 and 1934. From the analyzes carried out, it was possible to see that all the discussions, added to the events that followed the 1930 revolution opened space for a reformulation of agricultural education and, consequently, the Aprendizados Agrícolas.
