Open-access Feminist Movement and Working Class at the Center of Debates about Women’s Work (Rio de Janeiro, 1930-1937)

ABSTRACT

The article seeks to analyze the forms of action and articulation of the feminist movement, female groups and the working class in the debate surrounding the regulation of female work between 1930 and 1937 in Rio de Janeiro. It also seeks to explore the class aspects and notions of gender that marked the debate on labor relations and investigate the disputes surrounding the fight for women’s rights in the context of building social legislation.
