When the historian spies through the keyhole: biography and ethics

The article discusses the relationships and tensions between ethics and biographical narrative, especially in the field of historical knowledge, and was divided into three parts: the first exposes the conception of ethics that guide the subsequent analysis, the second addresses the ethical motivation that lies in the heart of the biography itself from its origins, namely to establish a moral discourse about man and society, and finally proposes a discussion on the ethics of the biographer historian both in relation to their biographees, as with regard to the principles of his discipline.
