This study sought to understand how nurses working at the Family Health Centers of the Western District - Ribeirao Preto, perceive the intersectoral approach and how they seek to put it in practice by creating articulations with social equipments which collaborate in the process of delivering health services to the population in their target areas. The data ordering technique was employed in this study in order to analyze Collective Subject Discourse. The results show that the intersectoral approach still represents a challenge , since professionals and sectors continue to work in a fragmented manner. The discourses reveal a conceptual confusion with respect to the intersectoral approach, considering it as an individual responsibility based on the individual users' demands. Thus, it is identified as a difficult and solitary work process. They also understand the need to create a support network for putting this principle into practice and believe that it is necessary to start understanding and listening to the opinion of other professionals and sectors.
