Open-access Body factory: body and power in the Tupy foundry

The purpose of this paper is to present an ethnographic research that sought to understand how the relationship between body and power was configured in the Tupy Foundry car parts factory, located in Maua, Greater São Paulo, Brazil. The study was conducted throughout the year 2011 with 12 workers as the researcher main interlocutors. They were interviewed on several occasions and through these it was obtained as result two forms of experience with the body: first, the body that breaks; and second, the body that escapes in daily encounters with power.
