Culture Points: contributions to Popular Health Education in the perspective of their coordinators

The purpose of this article is to analyze the contribution of Culture Points to popular health education, based on the view of their coordinators. The authors conducted a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research, in which eight coordinators were interviewed. The data suggest that the Culture Points are spaces for dialogue enhancement where it is possible to potentialize moments of speaking and listening, as well as moments of respect for knowledge, experiences and emotions. Based on this initiative, it was mentioned that it is possible to empower popular involvement in actions targeted at health promotion, thus strengthening collective participation and solidarity ties in the community. In addition, the Culture Points act as spaces of cultural creation and social leadership, which enable closer links between culture and health, and value the subjective characteristics of the subjects.
