Open-access INTERNATIONALIZATION OF TEACHER TRAINING: THE CASE OF THE GANHANDO O MUNDO PROFESSORES PROGRAM

Abstract

In this article, we analyze the Ganhando o Mundo Professor Program (GMP), promoted by the Government of the State of Paraná, through the State Secretariat of Education (SEED-PR), from the perspective of the Parameters for the Internationalization of Basic Education (Brasil, 2022) and critical internationalization. The theoretical framework is based on Köhler, Britz and Morosini (2023) to address internationalization in basic education, Vavrus, Pekol (2015); Piccin, Finardi, (2019); Finardi, Mendes, Silva, (2022) on critical internationalization and Hudzik (2011) who presents a comprehensive concept of internationalization. The views of the managers of (SEED/PR) were captured through newspaper articles and public documents (laws and notices) related to the GMP. As a result, the GMP program, from the point of view of managers, presents divergences in relation to these references, such as devaluing local knowledge by requiring participants to replicate locally what they learned in a short space of time abroad.
