The aim of this paper is to record the pieces of fabric handcraft, produced by the Community Quilombola of Giral Grande, located in Maragojipe, Recôncavo. It is an indicator of their cultural identity as well as represents a factor of livelihood for a portion of its members. This identity, in turn, becomes a factor essential to the process of legitimation of local land ownership, guaranteed by the Brazilian 1988 Constitution.
