Abstract
Social vulnerability can be defined as situations of precariousness and exclusion experienced by certain social segments, and this condition is aggravated by the presence of certain identity markers, such as in the case of women. Social and geographic spaces can also interfere in the production of this social problem, which is visible in border towns, which are marked by the distance from large centers and the lack of investment. Recognizing the scope of this problem, this article will focus on the social vulnerability of women in the border town of Corumbá, MS, based on the theme of work and income, presenting municipal data and indicators related to social vulnerability and discussing collective female articulations to build subsistence and financial support strategies.
