Expanding horizons to the benefit of readers

Like remodeling a house, there are times when new overlaps the old, but signs of both are tandem seen. While some do not realize the changes, others become delighted to appreciate the opportunity to gradually observe the new building over the past. This is currently happening to our journal. We are delighted to see that our proposed changes are being welcome by our readers and, time-to-time an increasing number of contributors are appreciating the benefits of them.

We are working behind to assure the new strategy we adopted will please readers, reviewers and contributors. During the last months, we increased significantly the number of our external reviewers. Every manuscript submitted is now sent to one local and one international referee. This is bringing a tremendous improvement in the reviewing process and, consequently, in the quality of the published information. Our goal this year is not only to have the entire journal published in English, but also to have an increased number of international contributors. To expand our horizons in that direction, we are pleased to announce that our journal was chosen to be the official publisher of the proceedings of the 39^th Meeting of the Brazilian Academy of Dental Materials, which will be held at Bauru School of Dentistry, from July 20^th to 23^rd. The issue will contain the full manuscripts of our guest speakers, Drs. Van Thompson (New York University, USA), Franklin Tay (University of Hong Kong, China) and Roberto Braga (University of São Paulo, Brazil), and the abstracts of the presentations of the participants of the meeting. This will provide our readers with the most updated information in the field of Dental Materials. Certainly, we hope that become a routine and other high standard meetings join us to share their information.

We hope you enjoy this issue and that you become part of those who are truly appreciating this joined effort to improve and expand the benefits of high quality information to dentistry.
