Abstract
This study examines practices of masculinity interdiction targeting Popo Vaz and Thammy Miranda-both transgender men-within Facebook interactions. The research employs an archeogenealogical methodology to map a discursive network characterized by regularity amidst a broader dispersion of statements that delegitimize trans bodies, portraying them as abnormal and misaligned with cisheteronormative norms. Furthermore, the study utilizes Foucauldian Discourse Analysis to interrogate the sexist and binary discursive structures that perpetuate regularities opposing the trans identities of Popo and Thammy across four selected Facebook posts and their respective comments. The findings indicate that-a priori-a system of domination and subjugation persists, legitimized by governmental apparatuses that reinforce prejudice against dissident bodies, despite the existence of anti-LGBTQIA+ discrimination laws in Brazil.
