Homophobia in discourse: Human Rights in circulation

ABSTRACT

In accordance with the perspective proposed by the theoretical framework of French Discourse Analysis, this article aims at reflecting upon the constitution of meanings on the subject of homophobia on Secretaria de Direitos Humanos da Presidência da República (SDH/PR) Direitos Humanos Brasil Facebook page, emphasizing the notions of ideology and discursive memory. The analysis focuses not only on the understanding of the effects of meaning produced in the sayings about homophobia published on this official web page of the government, but also on how the state adopts a certain position when engraving meanings on homophobia and human rights.
