“Photomancias” or the understanding of the world through the eye camera in the novel O fotógrafo, by Cristovão Tezza

Abstract:

The constant dialogue between literature and photography in the contemporary narratives made it possible to identify singularities in the way of representation used in the novel O fotógrafo, by Cristovão Tezza. From the naming of the chapters – frames – until the creation of the science of ‘photomancy’, the text presents itself as a collection of photographic images that unfold in an infinite possibilities of interpretation on recurrent aspects in the contemporary urban universe problematized in the Brazilian fiction of this century. Understanding the city-labyrinth - Curitiba, as well as the subjects that are part of its composition is one of the concerns of the narrator-photographers, readers attentive to that plural space in constant transformation.
