This paper analyses the rural trade unionism in Brazil on the last three decades, focusing on its relation with CUT and discusses the expressive growth of rural associativism inside CUT, reflecting on the reasons that are leading the greatest Brazilian central trade union to shelter such a large contingent of rural worker members in the set of its unionized basis.
