Resumo A partir da leitura de dois romances contemporâneos (K. - Relato de uma busca , de Bernardo Kucinski, e História natural da ditadura , de Teixeira Coelho), este ensaio analisa a relação da literatura brasileira recente comprometida com fatos históricos no contexto da ditadura militar. Irá arguir que tais romances refletem duas abordagens opostas ao desafio de dar conta de uma realidade de violência e repressão: uma adotando o prisma do testemunho subjetivo e outra se aprofundando no resgate dos elementos materiais de estruturas recursivas da história.

Abstract From the reading of two contemporary novels (K. - Relato de uma busca, of Bernardo Kucinski, and História natural da ditadura, of Teixeira Coelho), this essay analyses the relation of recent Brazilian fiction to Historical facts in the context of Military Dictatorship. It will be argued that these two novels express two different approaches to the challenge of dealing with the reality of violence and repression: one adopting the lens of the subjective testimony and the other to the rescue of material elements of History's recursive structures.

Resumo O artigo é um percurso através de textos e filmes que abordam a questão da reparação e da memória na Argentina e no Brasil, durante os períodos da ditadura e da pós-ditadura, entendendo-os como práticas de memória que têm um papel central a cumprir no contexto mais amplo de um trabalho coletivo que precisa se dar tanto no plano simbólico como no plano jurídico.

Abstract The article moves through some texts and films that deal with the question of reparation and memory in Argentina and Brazil, during dictatorship and post-dictatorship periods, understanding them as memory practices, that have a central role to play in the wider context of a collective work that needs to be done both in the symbolic and the legal plans.

Resumo O artigo relata a experiência das oficinas "A Narrativa revela o sentido sem cometer o erro de defini-lo" sobre direitos humanos e criação literária ministradas pelas autoras - atividades guiadas pelo pensamento filosófico de Hannah Arendt. A metodologia aplicada teve como inspiração o curso de Arendt "Experiências políticas no século XX" (ministrado em 1965), relatado por Celso Lafer no artigo "Experiência, ação e narrativa: reflexões sobre um curso de Hannah Arendt". A criação literária mostrou-se uma poderosa ferramenta de reflexão sobre questões que envolvem direitos humanos, principalmente em momentos de crise.

Abstract This article reports the experience of the workshops "Storytelling reveals meaning without committing the error of defining it" on human rights and creative writing taught by the authors - activities guided by the philosophical work of Hannah Arendt. The methodology was inspired by an Arendt's course entitled "Political experiences in the twentieth century" (1965), reported by Celso Lafer in the article "Experience, action and narrative: reflections on a course by Hannah Arendt". The creative writing has proved to be a powerful tool to the reflection on issues involving human rights, especially in times of crisis.

Resumo A partir de dois trabalhos plásticos realizados a partir de calendários (Todos os dias de nossas vidas , 2013-2015) e livros (Bildung , 2014), proponho reflexões sobre o tempo, a memória, a história e, também, a convivência entre povos.

Abstract This essay adresses recent moments of contemporary art in its relationship with human rights and the memory rescue of painful facts. Selected works from Horst Hoheisel, Andreas Knitz, Esther Shalev-Gertz, Marcelo Brodsky, and Fulvia Molina are analyzed, as well certain Paris memorials.

Resumo O artigo apresenta a obra de duas artistas da memória, ambas da América Latina, uma brasileira, Leila Danziger, outra argentina, Eugenia Bekeris. Cada uma delas tem uma poética própria e muito original. Ambas têm como herança a terrível memória da Shoah, o holocausto. Nas duas artistas, vemos imagens e palavras se juntarem em uma arte da memória poderosa e ao mesmo tempo delicada. Com suas obras, podemos tanto olhar de mais perto a paisagem em ruínas do século XX, como também repensar nosso próprio presente de modo mais crítico.

Abstract The article presents the works of two artists involved with the connection between art and memory. Both come from Latin America: one from Brazil, Leila Danziger, the other from Argentina, Eugenia Bekeris. Both have developed particular and original poetics. Both have received the memory of Shoah, Holocaust, as a terrible heritage. In their work, we can see images and words coming together to create a powerful and at the same time delicate art of memory. With their works we are able to both, see from a closer spot the ruinous landscape of the 20th century, and rethink our own present from a more critical point of view.

Resumen El texto se refiere a la posibilidad o imposibilidad del arte de representar situaciones extremas relacionadas con la violencia o las violaciones de los derechos humanos, y la manera en que el Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos en Chile, ha trabajado estos conceptos desde el arte contemporáneo.

Abstract The text refers to the possibility of art to represent extreme situations related to violence and violations of human rights and the way that the Museum of Memory and Human Rights in Chile has worked these concepts from contemporary art.

Resumo Tomando um verso do poeta João Cabral de Melo Neto como metáfora para a situação de despossessão em que vivem parcelas da população brasileira, este artigo aponta duas maneiras em que tais grupos sociais são representados pela produção contemporânea em artes visuais no Brasil. A primeira é a representação partida , que os ignora e assim os exclui do universo sensível partilhado socialmente. A segunda é a representação das sobras, que se ocupa em criar equivalências sensíveis da realidade brasileira que tornam visíveis os nexos entres gentes, espaços e fatos que promovem a despossessão radical de vidas.

Abstract Taking a verse from the poet João Cabral de Melo Neto as a metaphor for the situation of dispossession faced by portions of the Brazilian population, the text points out two ways in which these social groups are represented by the contemporary production in visual arts in Brazil. The first one is the partial representation, which ignores and thus excludes them from the socially shared realm of the sensible. The second one is the representation of the remains, which creates sensible equivalences of Brazilian reality that make visible the links between peoples, places and events that promote the radical dispossession of lives.

Resumo O ensaio apresenta o happening Bandeiras na Praça General Osório, realizado no Rio de Janeiro em 1968, e descreve a proposta curatorial e os trabalhos artísticos que compõem a sua retomada em 2014, na exposição Bandeiras na Praça Tiradentes, analisando o que na arte contemporânea delineia-se como um trabalho de memória, em uma verdadeira construção política do sujeito e da história.

Abstract This essay presents the happening Flags at General Osório Square, which took place in Rio de Janeiro in 1968, and describes the curatorial proposal and the works of art that compose its resume in 2014 for the exhibition Flags in Tiradentes Square, analyzing contemporary art in its facet of labor of memory that constructs both subject and History.

Resumo A transição brasileira para a democracia ocorreu sem rupturas evidentes. Sob a forte presença do legado ditatorial, a formação da memória sobre a repressão da ditadura teve dois eventos fundamentais, a publicação do projeto Brasil Nunca Mais e a abertura da Vala de Perus. A partir desses eventos fundacionais, o estudo tratado neste artigo oferece um panorama reflexivo sobre os primeiros locais de recordação do período preservados ou construídos na cidade de São Paulo. A despeito dos limites impostos pela transição pactuada, esses "lugares de memória" favoreceram a constituição de uma consciência coletiva acerca da repressão ditatorial e do status de suas vítimas e sobreviventes. A pesquisa realizada beneficiou-se de entrevistas inéditas, documentos pouco explorados e uma revisão da bibliografia existente sobre o assunto.

Abstract The Brazilian transition to democracy occurred without notable ruptures. Under the strong legacy of the civil-military dictatorship, the historical recollection of the period includes two fundamental events: the publication of the project Brasil Nunca Mais and the opening of the graveyard of Perus. From these foundational events the main goal of this study is to offer a reflexive panorama of the first memorial sites of the period, preserved or built in the city of São Paulo. In spite of the limits imposed by the negotiated political transition, these memorial sites benefited the birth of the collective consciousness about the dictatorship repression and the social status of the victims and the survivors. This research is based on interviews with people directly involved in these events, rare documents and a review of the existing bibliography on the matter.
