Abstract
Two scholars (X and Y) talk about the poem “Mundo interior” by Machado de Assis. From the exterior form of the poem, they access its meanings. Leaving aside the thematic-philosophical relations of the poem with the author’s prose, considering the sonnet exclusively as an autonomous poetic text, the interlocutors analyze it and try an interpretation of this Machado’s sonnet.
