LEISURE IN THE CURRICULUM OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION SCHOOLS: DIVERSITIES AND TRENDS

Abstract

This article describes courses related to leisure in the curricula of Physical Education schools in Brazil. Mixed methodology and the Categorical Analysis technique were used. As a conclusion, leisure seems to have little space in the number of courses and the time dedicated to them. Its place in the curriculum flow is varied, but courses tend to be in the first half of undergraduate studies. Relations with other topics are diversified in course summaries, but recreation, public policies, education, culture and sport stand out. Theoretical-conceptual approaches prevail over instrumental ones. Bibliographies are diversified and a there is high presence of books, especially introductory and conceptual works. Nelson Carvalho Marcellino is the most often cited author.
