Abstract
This work aimed to analyze the historical contextualization of sports policies for women in Brazil based on Kingdon’s Multiple Streams Model (1984). Documentary analysis was conducted on Brazilian legislation regarding women and sport from 1941 to the National Sports Conference of 2004. As a result, we realized that women’s sport was not recognized as a political problem until 1979, in deliberation no. 10 of the NSC and at the 2004 National Sports Conference. We concluded that women’s sport received political attention, however, this was largely prohibitive in nature, reinforcing the myth of the “fragile sex” and focusing primarily on football.
