FORMATION IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND THE DIFFERENCE ISSUE: A LOOK FROM RESOLUTION 06/2018

Abstract

The aim of this research is to problematize the constitution of difference in laws that guide the curricula of undergraduate courses in Physical Education. The theoretical-methodological lenses guiding the research are grounded on the Foucauldian Studies, by operating with the tool of governmentality, under a genealogical inspiration. Two actions were performed: the analysis of the knowledge constituting the education of teachers of Physical Education and the analysis of the present resolution intended for undergraduate courses in Physical Education in Brazil. The analyses have pointed out that the knowledge directed to undergraduate courses in Physical Education have medical, disciplinary, biological and normalizing emphases in relation to the other, without regard to difference. They have also shown that the current guidelines, despite bringing up inclusion policies, are not enough to embrace the discussion about difference, and they reinforce previous practices. It is possible to understand that some agendas have been either weakened or silenced, thus showing the inexistence of composition and understanding of difference in undergraduate courses.
