Open-access Aspiration: The Origin and Evolution of an Interdisciplinary Concept

ABSTRACT

The article offers an interdisciplinary theoretical discussion of the concept of aspiration, considering studies in the fields of psychology, sociology and economics, reflecting on its importance for the social and applied sciences. By taking into account both internal and external factors in their formation, aspiration is presented as a broad concept for the analysis of issues involving human development.
