Open-access Beyond Connectivity: A Theoretical-Political Reading of Digitalization

ABSTRACT

The article examines the limitations of democratic theories that seek to interpret the effects of digitalization from a theoretical and normative perspective. It argues that deliberative and agonistic approaches are too restrictive,hindering more complex social and political diagnoses.Therefore,it proposes an expanded view of digitalization and its relationship with democratic theory, suggesting a broader research agenda.
