Abstract
This article aims to present an experience report by a psychologist working at a Socioeducative Unity for Adolescents in conflict with the law. We also aimed to relate the restorative practices to the possibility of successful experience in the socioeducative system. The report has a Socioeducative Unity from a city in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, as setting. The data obtained are the fruit of the author’s experience and are part of a larger study entitled “A Study of Risk Factors and Protection for Youth being included in the Socioeducative System”. The results showed that the restorative practices performed at this institution were just the circles of commitments. About the Restorative Justice (JR), as it is new and it is not originally a model created in the Brazilian scene, it is still difficult to evaluate its possible results and impacts. The experiences presented suggest that there is a possibility that the JR can be a successful experience in the socioeducatiove system. We indicate the necessity of performing more research related to this issue.
