The author focus the importance of psychological and professional preparation of the workers to face the occupational risks in the setting of organizations nowadays changes. It brings to consideration, international cientific literature components, present personal experience data. Since the organizational diagnostic, under the Safety, Health and Environment Advisory, of the Refinaria Duque de Caxias (R J), from wich she was consultant, it is applied a methodology based on employee groups autonomy actions, including decisions about resources applications. As results, she point out the organizational structure articulation, the changes in the work conditions, the decrease in accidents rate and seriousness, more professional and psychological capacitation for the team work and management aptitude development. In conclusion, it is focused the important role of the safety, health and environment institutions, point out the necessity to be implemented researches of new methodologies concerned with the psychological aspects of the work.
