Bond and trust in group psychodrama psychotherapy care with prisoners

This article reports care experiences with prisoners carried out in the penitentiary institutions of Franco da Rocha, in a group psychotherapy proposal that used psychodrama methodology. The aim is to demonstrate the importance of the work of this nature, focused on the issue of the therapeutic bond and of on the co-creation of trust bonds. The report, based on the practice of care given to a group, totalizing fourteen meetings and was composed of eleven prisoners during the second semester of 2004, also considers the exchange of experiences with coworkers, members of the group Minds without barriers/prison bars. The development of trust bonds allows them to experience new roles, stimulating hope, love and making it possible to help them overcome a cycle that involves isolation and exclusion. The work results indicate an increase of tolerance of the prisoners toward their own condition, in addition to an improvement in their interpersonal relationships with other prisoners as well as with non-prisoners.
