Abstract
Collective Health is pointed up as a movement committed to the social transformation of health. Its conceptual landmarks are presented both as a domain of interdisciplinary knowledge and a universe of practices. As such, the challenges to follow its dynamics as a subject area are huge and complex. The quantitative analysis of the scientific literature can make important contributions for better understanding of the area. This article provides an overview of Brazilian original papers making bibliometric studies on collective health literature. Data were collected in the databases Web of Science, Scopus and LILACS. The results were described according to the main bibliometric variables, with special attention to the visibility of both the terms "collective health" and "public health". Most of the published literature tends to be descriptive rather than evaluative.
