Medical training and the psychic precariousness of students: a systematic review on mental suffering in the path of future doctors

Abstract

This article aims to highlight the neglected aspects of the medical course, concerning the need to look closely at the demands that are associated with students’ mental health. Based on a systematic review, we propose to reflect and guide the construction of medicine as a profession, science and responsible for the well-being of the requirements, including doctors still in training. The selected work selected 19 articles, between 2014 and 2020, which obeys the eligibility criteria, falling within the search for the correlation between the medical course and the psychic precariousness. Thus, in view of this analysis, it is proposed to discuss the stressors and triggers of symptoms of depression, anxiety and other disorders. It was possible that medicine is configured as a graduation full of peculiarities in relation to its functioning and, therefore, it needs to be seen from the perspective of this multiplicity, understanding the losses caused by personal and social pressures on being and medical knowledge. Thus, it is evident that thinking about the students' mental health, provides a more effective management field when looking at the other who suffers and needs care.
