O serviço de recreação operária e o projeto de conformação da classe operária no Brasil

In the 20s, 30s and 40s, several experiences of public recreation for workers and their families were implemented in Brazil. This paper reviews and discusses the principles of the experience implemented in the Federal District in the 40s, drawing on the analysis of the recreational project for workers and their children prepared during Getúlio Vargas' government, by the Ministry of Labor, Commerce and Industry (Minister Marcondes Filho) and the Working Class Recreation Service (Arnaldo Sussekind). This analysis is based on reports, interviews and the production developed by Arnaldo Sussekind, who is recognized as an organic class intellectual. Just like in the first records, it is concluded that recreation makes up the working class constitution policy implemented worldwide and, specifically, in Brazil, and that the Working Class Recreation Service (WCRS) is part of this constitution policy.
