Cultural industry, biopolitics and education

Abstract

The article seeks to rethink the actuation impact of cultural industry on education in light of the concept of device, according to the precepts of biopolitics. To do so, it makes use of certain processes derived from cultural industry, looking for, in the conceptual pairing subjectivation/unsubjectivation, new forms for its understanding. The discourse immersed in the critical theory of society adds itself to the itinerary of the hermeneutic of devices, as a means for returning this apparatus to its real purposes. The departure towards a classic formation is tensioned in a plural perspective. However, the basic vector of concern with a future better humanity remains, since cultural industry’s tendency is to bind its program to the commodity-form. In this manner, it remains submissive to the precepts of the present state of affairs.
