Theming and questioning: Paulo Freire’s assumptions in cultural curriculum of physical education

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the influence of Paulo Freire on the cultural curriculum of physical education, especially as regards the theming and questioning. It was found that Freire's legacy represents a paradigm shift with regard to educational issues to be addressed in physical education classes. Furthermore, from the political and pedagogical effects of a dialogicalproblematizing education, cultural curriculum of physical education can contribute to the deconstruction of the hegemonic representations that, in large part, operating social discrimination with regard the body practices and their subjects.
