Unemployment, informality and precariousness: the labor market situation in Brazil after 1990

Considering unemployment as both an intrinsic phenomenon in the process of capitalist accumulation and one of the consequences of governments' political options, this article brings a discussion about the role of unemployment in the definition of the recent strategies of capitalist development, as well as a reflection about the process of structuring the labor market and its slight inflection in the latest years.
