A review study was conducted to examine the theoretical models of stress and social support to evaluate the importance of the adaptation processes to life events and life changes and their relation to health conditions. Assuming that children are particularly vulnerable to changes in environmental conditions, the relationships between psychosocial factors and children’s health status was adopted as an analysis model. Migration was considered as an event capable of altering, among other elements, the patterns of family organization and mother-child interactions which can determine health conditions and disease.
