This work presents the analysis of the production of meanings on the process of creating a theater play, as reported by two beginner students of a drama course, in the city of Curitiba-PR. Since the theoretical framework of the Bakhtin circle and the historical-social psychology of Vygotski, we sought to analyze the meanings created on the process of production and performance of a play and the implications of this process to the constitution of the subjects involved. In addition, we present a theoretical reflection on the process of creation in theater, particularly on the construction of characters and on the production of the play.
