Feminisms, queer theory and critical social psychology: (re)telling stories...

Feminist and queer approaches are recognized as fundamental theoretical and methodological contributions to a redefinition of social psychology, especially of so-called critical social psychology. Despite the recognition of the theoretical limits shared by both feminist ideology as the critical views, some recent narratives about the relationship between feminism, queer theory and critical social psychology, especially with regard to the discussion of sexuality tend to consider the history of these relationships without proper contextualization and primarily from the perspective of postmodern ideas. From a selection of narratives that propose to (re)tell the story of these relationships, I try to show how some narratives allow to think of a relationship between the feminist and queer thought and other ends up presenting a version that attempts to counteract a theory relative to one another, betting on the replacement of feminism (seen as homogeneous, and without contradictions) by queer theory, treated as avant-garde.
