This study examined the role of personality and Professional Self-efficacy on university student's career planning behavior. The sample was composed of 213 participants, males and females, with a age mean of 24,8 years (sd=4,14). Three instruments were used: Factorial Battery of Personality, University Students Career Development Scales and a social demographic questionnaire. Data were analyzed with Pearson correlations and regression analysis. Professional Selfefficacy and personality were found to have unique contributions to the prediction of Career Planning. Moreover, Professional Self-efficacy was positively associated with Career Planning. Conscientiousness, Neuroticism (negative correlation) and Extraversion were significantly associated with Career Planning. Results are discussed emphasizing the importance of considering individual differences and of discussing professional self-efficacy beliefs in the context of career counseling.
