The article considers the notion of the origins of Psychoanalysis not as something that Freud actually invented, but as an appropriation of the interpretative idea, whose essence, the interpretation, he turned into a method. From this standpoint, it becomes obvious that Psychoanalysis as a discipline is not limited to a psychotherapeutic technique. The historic moment that required its appearance summoned it to heal the crisis, the absurdity, that had set up in the bosom of the urban society of the beginning of the century, crisis that at first presented itself in the shape of the neuroses.
