Vegetative propagation of pau-jacaré (piptadenia gonoacantha (MART.) MACBR.) for cutting

The present work had a main objective to develop a methodology for the propagation of the pau-jacaré (Piptadenia gonoacantha) by the technique of cuttings, evaluating the survival and productive capacity of the strains in cuttings successive collections in the clonal garden and the survival, rooting, height, vigor and root biomass and leaf cuttings depending on the application of different dosages of growth regulator (IBA), the type of substrate (vermiculite and compost organic Mecplant ®) and of the position of the cuttings (apical, intermediate and basal). The best results showed with the apical cuttings, using the compost organic as substrate, in the case of the intermediaries and bases the application of AIB in the concentration of 6.000 mg L-1 was what showed higher mean values in the characteristics evaluated greenhouse, house of shade and full sun. The survival of strains was 100% with production of shoots with a growing trend in successive collections. It is concluded that the vegetative propagation of the pau-jacaré by cutting technique using propagating material from cuttings coming from seedlings is technically feasible, especially using apical cuttings, or, intermediates and basal cuttings applying 6.000 mg L-1 of IBA and using compost organic as substrate.
