Bionomic aspects of Idalus admirabilis (Cramer, 1777) (Lepidoptera: Arctiidae) were studied in laboratory at 25 ± 2º C, 60 ± 10 % relative humidity and 12 hours photophase. I. admirabilis presented seven instars with 29.6 days and 39.39% mortality. Its pre-pupal and pupal stages lasted one day and 15.7 ± 0.13 and 15.0 ± 0.15 days for males and females, respectively. Each female of I. admirabilis laid 157.9 ± 0.67 eggs and the incubation period lasted 7.1 days with 41.7% viability. Adult longevity was 11.0 ± 0.88 and 13.0 ± 0.77 days for males and females, respectively.
