Through the interpretation of two Landsat5 TM data, the ecomuseum area has been classified as forests (19%), savanna (23%), and anthropic area (58%). By overlaying several maps of the region, it was possible to identify priority areas per county, for conservation of biological diversity. The total area of these priority sites covers a surface of 4.444 km², corresponding to 55% of the ecomuseum total area.
