Corn (Zea mays L.) performance in sequence to black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.) under agroforestry and traditional agricultural system

The experiment was carried out in the Brazilian Association of Biodynamic Agriculture, Botucatu - São Paulo, Brazil. The aim of the work was to evaluate the productivity of corn (Zea mays L.), variety AL 30, in sequence with black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.) under Leucaena diversifolia alley cropping agroforestry system and traditional management (without trees) following a randomized block design. Treatments were: T - Control; F - Fertilizer; B - Biomass of L. diversifolia alley cropping; B+F - Biomass of L. diversifolia alley cropping + Fertilizer. The parameters evaluated were: black oat dry matter production, grain productivity and plant height. The results were similar to those reported by other authors and concluded that both systems showed viability from the productive point of view and that the biomass use can substitute the chemical fertilizer partially or totally.
