ANNOUNCEMENT
As President of the Botanical Society of São Paulo, I am pleased to announce that Professor Antonio Salatino is the new Editor-in-Chief of the Brazilian Journal of Botany. Professor Salatino succeeds Professor Sonia Dietrich, who held the post for the last years, but unfortunately passed away peacefully while sleeping in August, 2012, as communicated in the third fascicle of volume 35.
Professor Salatino is a full Professor at the Institute of Biosciences of University of São Paulo. He holds a PhD in Botany from the University of São Paulo. He conducted Post-doctoral studies at the Universities of Texas (Austin) and Athens (Georgia). Prof. Salatino was head of department and coordinator of graduate program in the Department of Botany. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His expertise is in the areas of Ecology, with emphasis in Applied Ecology, Applied Botany, Chemistry and Molecular Systematics.
