Physical education, primary health care and the organization of work with ‘‘matrix support’’

Abstract

The study discusses the organization of work of Physical Education in Primary Health Care based on “matrix support”. A qualitative study was conducted with 11 Physical Education professionals in Sobral, Brazil, with data collection through three focus groups and systematization by thematic analysis. The results suggest some attitudes to be adopted by the professionals when working with “matrix support”: to be an apprentice professional, to promote the amplified clinic, to know the network, to reorganize health care and to participate in the political spaces. It is concluded that these attitudes favor user‐centered care, qualification of care and interprofessional work; considering, the integrality of care, training for work and popular participation.
