ABSTRACT
The Brazilian College of Sport Sciences (CBCE) has made efforts to discuss bodily practices and physical activities (BPPA) within the Unified Health System (SUS). This essay presents some of CBCE's perspectives on the creation of the National Policy on BPPA in SUS (PNPCAF). It is an essay that revisits the current situation of BPPA among the Brazilian population and within SUS; the origins of the debate; the path taken (up to April 2025); the dialogue with other public policies; and the expectations for a specific and integrated policy. In conclusion, it offers a synthesis of the collective work toward a PNPCAF that engages with the country’s cultural and regional diversity, aiming to be implemented in complex social contexts, and to provide access, care, and connection according to people's needs.
