ABSTRACT
With this study we aim to ma mapping the profiles of research groups in the southern region of Brazil that research and study school physical education. For methodological purposes, we analyzed documents from the leaders' Curricula Lattes, from the Research Groups Directory website and from the directory's user manual. We identified that the groups and their respective leaders are mostly concentrated in public educational institutions, in the Greater Health Sciences Area and in the Physical Education Knowledge Area. Articles are the products most published by leaders, especially by those who are accredited to Graduate Programs. Finally, we identified that scientific funding has been of little significance for research in Physical Education at school.
