Dear Editor

I would like to congratulate you and your team, for the inclusion of our journal in SciELO. This is, indeed, a great achievement for our society. However, the references of the articles published in our journal should be accurate so as to ensure that important studies are not prevented from being cited. Such inaccuracies recently occurred in 2 articles, namely, "Ninfoplasty: classification and technical refinements"¹ and "Inclusion of calf implants for the correction of loweSr limb amyotrophy"², published in the 26.3 edition (July to September 2011) of the Revista Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (Brazilian Journal of Plastic Surgery).

In the first article mentioned above, the authors proposed a classification for the hypertrophy of small lips, without mentioning another classification previously published^3-6. We would also like to emphasize that the hypertrophy of small lips is a pathology that differs from the hypertrophy of prepuce, the latter being a different condition that may not be related.

In the second article, we would like to suggest 2 of our published articles^7,8.

I recommend both articles for publication, as they mainly deal with subjects that have so far been poorly described in the national and global literature. Moreover, the personal experience of the authors will certainly contribute to new publications.

Before publishing their articles, I would like to remind our colleagues to search in the Bibliographic Index of SBCP, authored by Evaldo Alves D'Assumpção and Osvaldo Saldanha.
