Diversity and differentiation in brazilian higher education: concepts for discussion

Based on the study of the transformations occurring early this century in private higher education in Brazil, the author proposes to discuss the scope of the concepts of diversity, diversification, innovation, isomorphism, and institutional differentiation, present on the literature on higher education. Would also imply greater diversity and institutional differentiation the fact that the higher education system in Brazil is becoming larger and more complex due to the transformations in the private sector: among them, the emergence of new institutional arrangements and educational modalities, and the presence of international groups?

Higher; Private sector; Isomorphism; Institutional diversification
