This article analyzes the Latin American political process of the 2000s until today, especially regarding the countries with progressive or leftist governments. Particularly, are analyzed the changes produced in the political systems of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Uruguay. This decade’s social impact in the economic growth, as well as the impact of labor and social policies carried out by these governments, is evaluated. Lastly, the changes that have been produced by right and center-right governments in some of these countries and their current difficulties are analyzed.
